Secure card-based payments with Wincor Nixdorf Cashless Payment Solutions The Wincor Nixdorf Cashless Payment Solution is a new solution that enables card transactions to be handled securely at automated teller machines and POS terminals installed by banks, financial service providers, and retail and mineral oil companies. The end-to-end solution comprises functions for acquiring, routing and authorizing electronic card transactions. The Wincor Nixdorf Cashless Payment Solution is based on a new UNIX software platform, the Wincor Nixdorf Payment Server, and consists of four components – Channel Management, Routing, Authorization and Misuse Prevention – all four of which can also operate independently. Johann Praschinger, head of Payment Solutions at Wincor Nixdorf, states: “Our solution’s value added starts with the architecture. The entire solution is scalable so that it can handle constantly increasing transaction volumes as well as the growing number of product variants and channels. The solution’s clear structure ensures the Payment Server can be integrated quickly and easily in existing environments.” Overall Channel Management The Channel Management module makes it possible to handle transactions arriving from various systems. It can therefore process transactions from POS terminals and multivendor self-service devices as well as e-commerce, online banking and mobile payment transactions. Routing – The most efficient way to reach a destination Intelligent, flexible routing is a crucial success factor in state-of-the-art routing systems. This is the reason why routing is configured centrally. Routing rules can be adapted online, depending on card product and transaction type and on the basis of standardized rules. Authorization – High availability guaranteed The parameters for the Authorization module can also be set flexibly online. As with the routing component, systems are monitored and configured on the basis of rules via an integrated management console. Misuse prevention in real time With the Misuse Prevention module, Wincor Nixdorf offers an end-to-end solution that not only detects cases of fraud in electronic payment transactions but also offers consulting services relating specifically to misuse scenarios during operation. The core element of this component is the IRIS software solution from Wincor Nixdorf’s partner IRIS Analytics. IRIS links and evaluates information from any payment channels, thereby guaranteeing maximum precision when it comes to identifying fraudulent transactions in real time. Attempts to commit fraud can therefore already be averted during the authorization process. Managed Services In order to round out its end-to-end cashless payment portfolio, Wincor Nixdorf offers the option of solution infrastructure management for devices ranging from POS terminals to self-service systems to the Payment Server.
