Wincor Nixdorf and the Anglia Co-Operative highly commended at Retail Week Technology Awards

Wincor Nixdorf today announced that, in partnership with the Anglia Co-Operative, it has been highly commended at the Retail Week BT Technology Awards, for its EPoS Initiative of the Year, using next generation Self-Checkout technology. The Anglia Co-Operative was praised in this technology category for its innovative customization of existing Self-Checkout technology that delivering clear business benefits fortheir convenient store format. Anglia Coop were one of the first retailers in the UK to deploy Self Check out into their stores, but since introducing Wincor Nixdorf’s Bag over Basket technology the Anglia Co-Operative can provide all of the service quality delivered in out of town/large store format to their customers locally.

The glittering ceremony took place at London's Hilton Hotel on June 14th and played host to the biggest names in the industry, with the awards presentation itself attended by 500 suppliers, retailers and industry leaders. The Retail Week BT Technology Awards celebrate technical excellence within retail and is one of the UK retail industry’s highest accolades within the retail sector.

The criteria for the category included any EPoS replacement or upgrade that delivers greater functionality and benefits to both the retailer's business and its customers. Entrants had to also show how their EPoS initiative overcame project management demands to successfully deliver clear business benefits.
